Earlier this year, Operation Noah, Just Love, and JustMoney launched The Big Bank Switch campaign, inviting Christians around the UK to align their money with their values by switching from a bank that funds planet-destroying fossil fuels to one that doesn’t. We are now encouraging churches around the country to hold a ‘Switch It Sunday’ service, and have developed resources to make it easy to do so. Our ‘Switch It Sunday’ resource pack includes written prayers, suggested hymns and songs, scripture readings, and more.

Following last week’s successful Church of England General Synod motion to increase biodiversity on Church land, Operation Noah is highlighting a case study video featuring a new tree-growing partnership between the Diocese of Leeds and the Woodland Trust; together, the diocese and the Woodland Trust have identified over a dozen sites on 100+ acres of diocesan land with the aim of planting trees by 2025.

Operation Noah to hold open Zoom meeting to discuss upcoming CofE General Synod

Operation Noah will hold an open Zoom call on 20 June at 5.30pm for campaigners to hear about ways to support divestment in the Church of England in the run up to the CofE’s July Synod. The Church of England’s National Investing Bodies have said they will divest from fossil fuel companies not aligned with the Paris Agreement by the end of 2023, though questions remain as to how the CofE will determine compliance as well as when divestment might be announced.

Job Opportunity: Fundraising Officer Deadline Extended to 11 February 2024

Operation Noah is hiring a self-employed Fundraising Officer for 14 hours a week. The application deadline has now been extended to Sunday 11 February 2024, 11.59pm. The contract period will be for an initial 6 months which could be extended with further funding. We are looking for an experienced and motivated person to work alongside our Campaign Director to ensure further funding for the Bright Now campaign.

Application Deadline Extended: Bright Now Campaign Director Needed

Operation Noah is hiring for a Bright Now Campaign Director and has extended the application deadline to Monday 13 November at 5pm. We will begin accepting applications again on Monday 2 October. The Campaign Director position is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, with an emphasis on encouraging UK Churches to divest from fossil fuel companies and invest in climate solutions.
