This Lent, the staff and trustees at Operation Noah are inviting you to consider two brilliant ways to take meaningful action on the climate crisis. From joining our 10-day ‘No Faith in Fossil Fuels’ Prayer Vigil for climate justice outside the Houses of Parliament to pledging to switch to an ethical bank as part of our Big Bank Switch campaign, we’re inviting you to make this Lent a time of prayer, repentance and hope.
‘No Faith in Fossil Fuels’ 24/7 Prayer Vigil for Climate Justice
Starting on Ash Wednesday (14 February), Christians will gather in Central London outside the Houses of Parliament for the first 10 days of Lent as part of a 24/7 prayer vigil for climate justice. The vigil starts with an Ash Wednesday ‘No Faith in Fossil Fuels’ service at St John’s Waterloo at Noon, and continues through Saturday 24 February.
Sign up here to pray for an hour or a day – or join Operation Noah as we pray on Wednesday 21 February at 3pm and again on Saturday 24 February at 10am.
The vigil, which is being supported by some of the largest Christian charities in the UK, including Christian Aid, CAFOD and Tearfund, is calling on the Government to make the UK’s biggest polluters pay for climate action, to deliver and build on the UK’s international climate finance pledges, and to ban on all new UK fossil fuel projects.

The Big Bank Switch
This Lent, Operation Noah, Just Love, and JustMoney are launching The Big Bank Switch campaign. You are invited to join Christians around the UK who are choosing to align their money with their values by switching from a bank that funds planet-destroying fossil fuels to one that doesn’t.
The climate crisis isn’t just happening, it’s being funded – sometimes by those of us who are most concerned about caring for God’s creation, and all because we have a bank account with HSBC, Barclays, Santander, NatWest, Chase, Lloyds or another high street bank.
You can join The Big Bank Switch by making a Fossil Free Pledge this Lent. By pledging, you will commit to taking meaningful action against harmful fossil fuel-funding by banks by switching your bank account to a green bank on 21 April 2024. We have partnered with Switch It Green, who have made it easy, quick and safe to switch to a trusted, ethical UK bank.
By tallying the thousands of Christians who are taking meaningful action with their bank accounts, we will deliver a clear message to bank executives that we have no faith in fossil fuels, pressuring these banks to stop funding climate breakdown.
