Operation Noah has released a report that makes recommendations on ways to reduce and store carbon emissions to one of the country’s largest landowners, the Church of England, which owns approximately 0.5% of the UK’s land. The report is also relevant to other UK Churches and Christian groups, estimated to own another 0.5% of the UK’s land.
We are inviting you to join us on Tuesday at 7pm as we host an online event exploring our new report – scheduled to release on the same day – ‘Church Land and the Climate Crisis: A Guide to Action’, which outlines the scope for reducing greenhouse gas emissions on Church land, as well as enhancing carbon sinks such as woodlands and peatlands.

Join us for a one-hour ‘Divest the Church of England’ training session on Tuesday 27 September at 5.30pm. In this short online session, you’ll learn more about the dangerous expansion plans of fossil fuel companies and why divesting from fossil fuels and investing in climate solutions is the way forward.
The two biggest things that happened environmentally at this summer’s Lambeth Conference – the once-a-decade gathering of Anglican bishops – were the announcement of a global project to protect forests, reforest land and restore nature, and the introduction of a document on the environment. Operation Noah recently spoke to Revd Dr Rachel Mash, secretary of the Anglican Communion Environmental Network, about the environmental significance of Lambeth.
